Want to get more active? Check out our committees below
FSU GAU committees meet and coordinate members across departments towards specific goals. If you would like to participate or have any further questions, please reach out via Discord, contact the committee chairs, or reach out to our general inbox at info@fsugau.org.
Committee Membership is on a volunteer basis, so if you are interested but can only contribute as much as 15 minutes a week, your efforts are still needed and appreciated!
A note about Discord: While it may not be the most convenient option for members who have not previously used the platform, it is our most centralized form of communication and enables us to reach as many members as possible as quickly as possible. It also enable committee chairs and executive committee members to reach out to the entire committee at once and have all communication in the same place. Check our Instagram bio or email us for the join link!

Organizing Committee
Meeting Time/Location: Every Friday, 11am-12pm
via Zoom, occasionally in person as discussed in the Discord
(please email or join the Discord for the zoom link!)
How to Join: Join our discord and express your interest! You will be added to the organizing channel to keep up with the committee.
What we do: The organizing committee meets every week to discuss progress in organizing our membership and motivating GAs to join. We largely do this through office visits, done in groups of 2-4 to meet and talk to members and potential members about GAU. We also plan and host socials including occasional joint socials with faculty and town halls for members to discuss department concerns.
Due to current legislative attacks, we also need as many in-unit GAs as possible to sign a Showing of Interest Card or SOI card in order to hold an election to keep our union certified.
Political Action Committee
Meeting Time/Location: TBA
How to Join: Join our discord and express your interest or reach out to Jordan Scott, our committee chair at any time.
What we do: The goal of the political action committee is to mobilize GAs towards political and legislative action. Jordan Scott is also the President of the Big Bend Labor Council.
Florida Legislative Session starts March 4 and ends May 2. We will be looking for people to help us lobby the legislature.
